Biography:

In 2004 SHAPESHIFT introduced themselves for the very first time as an earthshaking new landmark on the musical map with their idiosyncratic new album "Confusedated". This first output already emphazised the sound trademark of this stunning new independent band: a breathtaking mixture of modern Thrash and Progressive Metal, canorous vocals and ambitious songwriting creating an almost overwhelming atmosphere of abnormal
anticipation and fathomless ferocity!

SHAPESHIFT are more than just unique. They are the the superior surgeons of "Brain Metal" pursuing one single goal: being mindbogglingly unpredictable!

As soon as SHAPESHIFT are entering the stage they have a haunting impact on their audience. The band combines outstanding musicianship with an hyper-energetic attitude as well as plumbiferous heaviness. Whether sharing the stage with acts like Swedish Power Metal outfit "Morgana Lefay" or at numerous regional shows, SHAPESHIFT always leave their audience in a state of shell shock as if just been hit by a psychotic hurricane!

At the beginning of 2007 their first full-length album "Fragments" takes SHAPESHIFT to the next level of musical extravagance. By closing the gap between complex song structures and stirring melodies, they are embedding unsettling musical mania within a crystal clear production of frantic persuasiveness.

Comparing SHAPESHIFT with other bands is simply preposterous, because they are breaking down all walls of perception and hit your brain like a maelstrom of frozen lead.
