Hello, first of all thanks for the interview Aldo Lonobile you guys play amaizing:

You're welcome!!! No problem at all, I'm glad to talk with you!!!

1. Which is the history of Secret Sphere?

I formed the band on July 1997. The first line-up features me(lead/ rythm guitars), Andrea Buratto (bass), Cristiano Scagliotti (drums), Gianmaria Saggi ( rythm guitar), and Ramon (vocals). After many changes finally on December 97 the band finds stability with two new members: Antonio Agate (keyboards) and Paco Gianotti (guitar).

On September 1998 we record their first demo "Between Story and Legend". After it Cristiano Scagliotti leaves the band to be immediately replaced by Luca Cartasegna. The demo is very well reviewed everywhere (also top demo on Metal Hammer), so that after few days it catches the attention of Elevate Records. On June 1999 they record at Luigi Stefanini's New Sin Studios (Labyrinth, Eldrich, Domine, White Skull) their first full length CD, "Mistress of The Shadowlight". After the success of "Mistress of the Shadowlight" (especially in Japan, France, Brazil and Chile) and some live shows across Italy, they start recording on June 2000 the song "How many tears" for the Helloween tribute "Keepers of Jericho" for "ARISE RECORDS" that features many international big names (Metallium, Heaven's Gate, Sonata Artica, Labyrinth, Rhapsody and many more). Four months later they record the new album "A Time Nevercome" once more at New Sin Studios. It was top album on almost all heavy metal magazines for personality and originality as well as taste and good production, after this release we played some shows around europe. After that we got many problems with the label, untill finally in 2002 we stop the collaboration and after two pre production we sign a deal with Nuclear last records.

The third album "Scent of Human Desire" sees the light on May, 19th 2003. Recordings take place in Italy (Mirage and Alfa&Omega Studios), mix and mastering in Germany (House Of Music, with Achim Kholer, same producer of Sinner, Primal Fear, Brainstorm). After this release we did an italian tour and some festival apparition, like Metal Dayz in switzerland and ProgPower USA in Atlanta.

In 2004 there is the friendly split with the drummer Luca Cartasegna, which worked with the band for the first 3 albums, due to different tastes and points of view. Ready to start again with a new member, the band records at the end with a good professionist, Daniel Flores, already drummer of the Swedish prog-metallers Minds Eye.SO in February Heart & Anger is ready again mixed by Achim. In these album we got the chance to use a real orchetsra!

After the album we did an Italian tour with Royal Hunt and a Europen tour supporting King Diamond. Now we're back in our studio composing the new stuff!!!

2. What you think about the great power metal Italian school?

Well in Italy there are lot of very talented bands, but I also think that many bands which play power symphonic stuff are too similar. This is not good because the market is already sature and what we need now is more personality to keep alive the attention on italian bands and luckily we have some great act which follow this way!

3. Are you planning new material or some tour?

Right now we are working on the new material, the album should be recorde in april, the songs are bit heavy and faster, always melodic anyway! After that forsure we will go on tour again!

4. Great Secret Sphere´s albums: A Time Never Come, and Mistress Of The Shadowlight, are these the masterpieces of Secret Sphere?

Many people say that A TIme Never Come is our best work and I can say that when it comes out was really very innovative in the italian power metal scene. But Secret Sphere has always composed personal stuff, for example our thrid release was something really really innovative in Power metal, maybe too courageous, and that's why the old fans didn't aprreciate it a lot.

The last release is in between the 2nd and 3rd album and got a very good reaction. I have many positive feelings towards the new work we're composing.

5. Besides of the vocalist, which ones have side projects?

I have a band called Civilization One with Chity Somapala ex-Firewind singer and the album Revoltion Calling in mixing mode, there should be a release in august - september. Then I should start the recording of Shadowspell and with Nils K Rue, singer of Norwegian Pagans Mind.

6. Why the changes in the formation?

We changed the drummer Luca Cartasegna for the most common reason in bands, the different point of view concerning the musical direction, that's all, we are still friend and he play in Civilization One, the new drummer of Secret SPhere is Federico Pennzzato, a young guy very talented.

7. Why are so different the third and fourth albums for the first two? You changed the music and lyrics theme, why?

As I said Secret Sphere is band always thinking to evolve its sound, we don't like really to play what we like and that's why we try so many musical style. Anyway the last release has many common point with A Time Never Come. About the lyrics I think that people prefer to see something which remind to some situations lived instead of talking about stories or mythology, we still use also that kind of theme, but we prefer to talk to the people now.

8. We will publish new polls, related with power metal musicians, which are your preferred?

Nowdays my favourite in prog-power metal are Jorn Lande (his work in Masterplan is very good) , even if is out of the scene from years Henk Van De Laars (Elegy) on guitar is my favourite, than Mike Terrana on drums.

9. Thanks a lot for your time, there's something that you want to share with your fans?
