Enigmatic Calling is the third release by Pagan’s Mind. Before reading this review, go read the one on their previous cd, Celestial Entrance. Done? Good, because in this review I’m just going to describe the changes in their sound on this cd.

For this new release the overall Pagan’s Mind sound is there, it has just been tweaked in a few places. First, there is a little more of a progressive touch to the songs. The structures are now more complex as opposed to the simpler ones found on previous albums. Also, they have varied the sound of each song a little more, making each one distinct. They also managed to make the already amazing production and mix even better. Overall there is an almost indescribable sense of maturity and growth about this album that can only heard after listening to the two albums back to back. The rest is pretty much the same. Do not, however, get the impression that this is a bad thing. It’s the idea of “don’t fix it if it isn’t broken”. If you liked the previous album you will probably like this one too.
