10 / 10

I was introduced to Hourglass by a friend from Mexico and i am so happy that i was!! They are a 5 piece outfit from Utah, lead by the amazing Guitarist Brick Williams, i was also amazed to find this band is not on a label, why i'm not sure but they must be one of the greatest bands ever without a label ( With Scapeland Wish )

This is an epic cd with some epic songs, The first cd clocks in at about 68 minutes and thats with only 5 tracks. Songs like" Pawn 2" with its Spanish feel," Facade" with it's sweet intro and "Faces" are totally breathtaking, the latter is one of the greatest ballads i have EVER heard ( I think i will somehow put the chorus as my ringtone on my mobile )

New vocalist Michael Turner reminds me of Ted Leonard of Enchant and Eric Blood on Bass is just crazy good. The band reminds me of Dream Theater, Power Of Omens ( Yes they are that good ) lots of long instrumental passages here. For an unsigned band to release a double cd tells me that its all about the music and keeping the fans happy, but i harp they should be snapped up by a big label. Hourglass could seriously become one of my all time favourite bands!! So go and treat yourself to a copy of this amazing piece of work!! It's time for me to put the best ringtone in Australia on my phone.

CHEERS GUYS
