Disperse, Journey Through The Hidden Gardens 10/10
Thursday, 20 May 2010
Without a doubt Poland is the hub of all thing Prog and we have a band that just might possibly be the best of all of them and that includes Riverside. I love bands that draw you in from the very opening track and the album just gets better. The vocalist Rafal Biernacki reminds me somewhat of the Lord Of Mushrooms singer and is great on this disc. The one thing for me that stands out apart from the amazing melodies is the Guitar playing from Jakub Zytecki, he really is an amazingly talented guy who can create wonderful emotions!!
The band definately have a Riverside influence but i can also hear bands like Gordian Knot, Lemur Voice and Frost. Every song is an instant classic and the track "Let Me Get My Colours Back" is my song of the year im my opinion and if these guys write anything in the future close to this then Disperse will very soon become one of my all time favourite artists. All the musicians are outstanding and I really like the Ambient keyboard feel which add to the mood of the disc. I dont think they are signed as yet but thats just a matter of time before one of the major Prog labels come knocking and I think once that happens the world is this bands Oyster, they are truly that amazing!!
