Sun Caged - Artemisia by Kiran

Sun Caged - Artemisia

10/10

Sun Caged from the Netherlands, brought a great album with great tracks this time. The not so obvious song twists, and melodious composition feels as if they really took the time to device these songs. Great album, great music, great progmetal just like Lemur Voice, one of the best progmetal bands of all times, now dismember so sad,  but now Marcel Coenen brings this same style to life in this great band Sun Caged.

The tempo of the songs are at a medium, this makes way for a nice balance between ballads and some heavier (7-string) parts for strong dynamics.

Talking about guitars Marcel Coenen such a string wizard makes this album really shine.  Not saying that the other band members are there for show, their craftsmanship seeps through as well. Drums wreak havoc and technical when needed, the vocals of Paul Adrian are clear and remind me of Ted Leonard, so great, so much feeling. Key's are really up there par with Andre Anderson's fills and solo's.  And last but not least their new basist, he really is a complementary part and adds value to the songs.

Overall, a great  album,  greatly mastered,  really worth picking up....

I hope they keep it up, and really look forward to their next album.

This Swedish Progressive Power Metal band it is a really wonder, Seventh Wonder comebacks after two years of their second full length Waiting in the Wings (by the way, an spectacular record); this line up plays fantastic progressive parts, at the level of the best prog metal bands; the vocals are enchanting and moving, they are an incredible demonstration of emotions, I think they are the best vocals and the best band of the genre (Prog Power); they also play an impressive bass guitar, you need to listen the bassist to believe it; the drums and rhythms of the band are fast and sometimes totally progressive, sounds alike the musical parts from DT at the Metropolis era, the keyboards and piano creates majestic solos and orchestrations, the guitar sound is potent and crushing, great riffs, everything is magnificent on this new work, Mercy Falls, their third production, a concept album, 15 parts, 74 minutes of an amazing, clean, powerful, melodic and technical metal, they includes acoustic guitar on some songs, completer than their past long plays, interesting history, nice cover, they go in enhancement.

Mercy Falls is now out for sale, buy it, a Progressive Power Metal full length that you must include in your collection.
