Pantommind - Lunasense (2009) - Review by Logan Lee 9/10

Pantommind – Lunasense (2009) – Review by Logan Lee

This album is indeed one of the best I’ve heard so far on 2009. Not much by the vocal style, which I frankly don’t love, but by the musical technique and instrumental abilities. The CD is a sort of melting pot in which heavy, power and progressive metal influences were put together (sometimes in an anarchic way, but also very pleasant to hear) to form a dark and profound atmosphere.

What I can’t forget to say before the end is that once I returned the borrowed CD I went to the store and bought it. I assure you will fell the same when listening to it the very first time (and if the voice stile fits on your taste it gets even better).

Back to the review: some tracks deserve special attention from anyone among those who will give these CD a chance, and they are the first 2 songs and the last 3, which must be heard one after another in sequence in order to reach their beauty.

Anyway, for me the album would deserve a 9/10 but since I did not enjoy the voice it will receive a 7,5/10. In either way is a very nice album, but for those who did enjoy his voice is a must have.

Biography:

TIME were born in February 2005 and were initially made up of Cesare (guitar and voice), Enrico (keyboards and back vocals), Alessio (bass) and Simone (drums).

In the August of the same year TIME found a new alchemy and a definitive shape with Monica, who became part of the band as lead singer.

The music of TIME is a mixture of progressive rock and progressive metal which draws its inspiration from some basic bands of progressive: from Emerson Lake & Palmer , Rush , Toto and Yes to Dream Theater , Liquid Tension Experiment , Pain of Salvation and many others...

We all know that instrumental technique is very important for this particular kind of music, but TIME don't want to be caught in the trap of an exaggerated and fruitless technicality: first of all they want to express their thoughts and their emotions through the music.

The passion and the energy that bind TIME since their origin have driven them to record their first EP titled "Beyond The Wall Of Sleep", published on April 6th 2007 at Music Heart Club during the Metal Heart Festival.

Discography:
