Paramount is Germany,s prog rockers Sieges Even 7th album, and comes after the amazing The Art Of Navigating By The Stars. When i recieved this release i was like, this couldn't be as good as Navigating could it? well it is so close to that album in feel and all round perfection it is amazing!!I never get bored of this style of music ( Yes, Enchant, Genesis Rush ) There is always something to hold the listeners interest, especially with Arno Menses sweet vocals and the amazing melodies. There are some truly amazing songs on Paramount, Eyes Wide Open, Duende, Bridge to the divine ( with its strong Yes feel ) Leftovers and the title track Paramount, they have again achieved a level of excellence that few bands can do after 20 years of being together, no stale moments here, just pure prog rock heaven!! It is such a pity that this was their last studio release as they called it a day, they did the live album Playgrounds a year later. I suppose they left while they were on top and who can blame them, so many bands don't know when to stop but with Sieges Even you say to yourself, i wish they did just one more and that is a tribute to this amazing band!!Thanks for the great memories guys. |
